10 product concepts I see differently now
The first book about product management I ever read was Inspired. Now, almost 10 years later, itโs quite interesting to look back at my notes and see how my perspective has changed.
From the role of a PM within a team to what defines success and drives innovation, here are In both cases, I had the literature, but my experience and product sense have been refined over the years.
Some of the Biggest Shifts:
Empowerment: From expecting to be given a problem to solve to demonstrating competence, integrity, results, and taking accountability to be able to work on a problem to solve
Measuring Product Success: From focusing only on the product's ability to solve a customer problem to measuring success in terms of effect and ROI
Predictability: From refusing predictability to working with an outcome-based roadmap grounded in hypotheses, and changeable based on learnings
Managing Up: From convincing others and making my case to including others in the process and co-creating
Innovation: From solving new problems or old problems in new ways to realizing the importance of taking risks as a crucial driver of innovation
All my shifts in perspective are in the carousel below
