Sharing my story in the Unlearning Podcast
In Italian, we say: Per ogni porta chiusa, si apre un portone — every shut door is a gate that opens.
But let’s be honest, when doors slam in your face, panic rises, and self-doubt creeps up your shoulders, it’s hard to see any opportunity.
I know, because I’ve been there.
When I couldn’t get back into fashion after moving to Sweden.
When suddenly and unprepared, I lost my dad.
When I decided to step away from my “perfect job.”
Every time, I felt cornered and I had to rebuild: slowly, messily, but always with more clarity than before. Because if there is one thing I learned from those difficult moments is that they were all a (painful) opportunity to re-think and re-evaluate what really mattered.
If you’re feeling stuck right now, maybe it’s not the end, maybe it’s a sign you’ve outgrown your current path, and something new is waiting to start.
I sat down with Barry O'Reilly for his Unlearn podcast to talk about just that. How to navigate those moments. The kind where everything feels uncertain, but you can turn the darkness into light if you know how to.
We touched on career and life shifts, growth mindsets, and how approaching unlearning and expectations in a more structured way could become your best tool for growth.
If you’re in that corner right now, know that you’re not stuck. You’re growing. You’re not alone, and I hope this conversation brings light and clarity.
